WHG Hotels (Washington Hotel, Hotel Gracery, Hotel Tavinos and Hotel Fujita) have been undertaking initiatives related to the environment because we consider them essential to our sustainable growth as a company. This is based on our corporate mission statement to contribute to the creation of an affluent and prosperous society by providing a wholesome place for our guests to relax and enjoy heartwarming service.

These initiatives are in line with the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), established to create a sustainable society.

To contribute to the achievement of the SDGs, WHG Hotels will continue to solve social issues and create a sustainable society through our business.

About the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an international framework adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015, with targets to be achieved by 2030. They comprise 17 goals and 169 targets aimed at ending poverty and creating a sustainable society. Businesses, governments, non‑profit organizations and other stakeholders are expected to work together to implement this agenda

Promoting eco-friendly room cleaning

To help protect the global environment, we offer an eco-cleaning service for guests staying multiple nights, with your understanding and cooperation. By reducing the energy used for cleaning and laundry, we aim to lower CO2 emissions together with our guests. Full cleaning is available upon request.

Reducing plastic in guest amenities

At WHG Hotels, we provide toothbrushes made from 100% plant‑based, biodegradable biopolymer. We kindly ask guests to bring their own toiletries — including toothbrushes — when possible to help reduce plastic waste.

Reducing food waste at the breakfast buffet

To tackle food waste—when perfectly edible dishes are discarded—we have implemented the following measures:

Thirty minutes before closing, some dishes are portioned into small plates.
Dishes are replenished based on guest turnout.
